Our office is in need of a reliable medical assistant who can provide first-class care to our patients. You’ll be responsible for welcoming patients, scheduling appointments, and working closely with our healthcare staff to take patient histories, collect test samples, and help with examinations. Responsibilities:

• Say hello to patients when they come to the office, answer the phone, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries about prescription refills and treatment to ensure patients have a pleasant experience at our office
• Draw blood and prepare blood samples for laboratory tests
• Speak with the patient about the reason for their visit and record their personal information and medical history to share with the healthcare staff
• Record patient vital signs including body temperature, respiration rate, blood pressure, and pulse and add the information to their chart
• Make sure examination rooms are ready for patients by ensuring they’re well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature and that all equipment is sterilized
• Provide medication as instructed by providers and protocol

Qualifications:

• 1 year of prior experience as in a medical assisting role performing administrative duties or similar position in a healthcare work environment
• Solid communication and customer service skills
• High school graduate or has GED
• Possesses basic computer skills to complete administrative tasks
• Passed Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam to obtain certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agency
